15 priceless gifts to give to yourself

Here’s a list of priceless gifts to give to yourself to live a beautiful, mindful, and rewarding life.

Forgiveness

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” Mahatma Gandhi

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” Lewis B. Smedes

Do you carry the weight of unresolved problems and hurt? It is time to let go of any burden you have been carrying around with you. Know that you did the best you could at the time with the resources available to you. Seek forgiveness, give forgiveness and forgive yourself. Capture any lessons to be learnt and move forward. Do not waste another moment in pain.

Kindness

“Compassion for others begins with kindness to oneself.” Unknown

We are all on a journey. It isn’t always easy and you as well as anyone else deserves your kindness.

Self love

“Loving yourself…does not mean being self-absorbed or narcissistic, or disregarding others. Rather it means welcoming yourself as the most honored guest in your own heart, a guest worthy of respect, a lovable companion.” Margo Anand

Have you ever stopped to think how extraordinary you are? Just think about it – you are individually crafted, with love, by a higher power. (Whatever name you want to give them). Use this to know just how perfect and amazing you are and to love yourself. To have love in your life, you need to love yourself, for how can you give love and know how to receive love if you don’t know love in yourself?

Confidence

“Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud.” Unknown

“Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.” Unknown

Do not waste another day in self-doubt. Be confident. Your voice is as valuable as anybody else in the world. You are too valuable to not share yourself fully, to not give yourself fully to life. Give yourself the gift of confidence, be you and shine bright.

Health

“Your greatest wealth is health.” Virgil

You deserve to live a vibrant and healthy life. Don’t let poor health hold you back. Walk, breathe, rest, drink water and eat for nutrition. What one healthy habit can you add to your life this month? Keep adding one more health habit a month and in a year your health and body can be transformed. Your body needs to last you a lifetime. Treat your body with kindness and love.

Happiness

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” Denis Waitley

“Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrate it for everything that it is.” Mandy Hale

Don’t wait until you have ‘xyz’ or reached ‘abc’ level to experience joy. As I have previously said, set the highest standards for all aspects of your life except for happiness. With happiness, set the lowest standard you can so that the smallest of things bring you joy. Happiness is a choice. Choose it you for yourself today and everyday.

 Wisdom

“Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.” Charles Spurgeon

Continually look at raising your level of knowledge about all the important areas of your life. Consider your health and wellbeing, your relationships, your career and your finances. Then apply the knowledge, understand, observe, learn and grow. Through developing your knowledge and applying it wisely you can raise standards in all areas of your life. Give yourself the gift of knowledge, continual learning and wisdom.

Friendship

“The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself” Steve Maraboli,

How well do you treat your best friend? Are you always there for them? Do you treat them with respect, compassion, kindness and love? Treat yourself as well as you treat your best friend. You are worthy of gifting your friendship to yourself.

Time

“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.” Steve Jobs

‘Our time is limited’ as Steve Jobs once famously said. Everyday is a gift. Time is the one thing we cannot buy more of. It is perhaps the most precious of gifts we have to give. Choose who and how you spend your time carefully. Take some of your time to do something that makes you happy. Give yourself some of your time. Give yourself the precious gift of your time.

Journaling

“Don’t forget – no one else sees the world the way you do, so no one else can tell the stories that you have to tell.” Charles de Lint

If you don’t already do so then start journaling. Capture lessons and treasure magical moments. Write down what you learned, what you are grateful for and what inspires you. One day you will look back and realize how far you have come and reminisce on the things that bought you joy. Don’t rely on your memory. You don’t have to write pages upon pages or even paragraphs upon paragraphs unless you want to. You can just simply write down a sentence or two or a few of your thoughts. Start writing down the story of your life.

Focus

“Where focus goes, energy flows.” Dr Wayne Dyer

Give yourself the power of focus. Focus only on what you want and how you want your life to be. Let your energy flow only to these thoughts. Don’t give things you don’t want in your life any of your energy. There are so many distractions in life, don’t let these steal you away from focusing on your dreams and goals.

Know yourself

“Knowing other’s is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering other’s is strength; mastering yourself is true power.” Lao Tzu

Know your strengths, amazing qualities and attributes as well as your weaknesses and fears. Knowing yourself is the first step to being all that you want to be and recognizing the amazing person you already are.

Become your own inner coach

“You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” Louise L. Hay

Check in with yourself from time to time and ask yourself if the thoughts you have serve you well. Do they move you towards or away from your dreams and goals. Realize that you are in charge of your mind and become your own inner coach instead of an inner critic.

Faith

“Let your faith be bigger than your fears.” Unknown

The opposite of having faith is living with sadness, fear and worry. Choose to live with faith and hope instead. Place one foot in front of the next and just keep on going – you’re doing great. Do good, be good and have faith.

Meditation

Give yourself the gift of breath, focused attention, inner peace, inner coaching, forgiveness, health and wellbeing and happiness. If you haven’t started meditating yet, then today is a great day to give yourself this gift.

Remember, life is a precious gift and it is up to you how you experience it. Be a giver, both to others and to yourself.

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” Marcus Aurelius

“Your life is not a problem to be solved but a gift to be opened.” Wayne Muller
